OHAC Podcast – Two Thumbs Up

One thought on “OHAC 53: Bagpipe of Fiddles

  1. A most delightful episode!

I thought I would contribute an example I found over the holiday. I believe this has multiple points of relevancy to the conversation you had while also being something I thoroughly enjoyed rediscovering.

The above is a Looney Tunes short of the three little pigs set to Brahms’ Hungarian Dances. The title music for Looney Tunes is certainly a fitting piece of music for the prompt too, and one that gives me great nostalgic delight. I also enjoy Brahms, of course, and his popular tune I expect you know. The animators did a lovely job telling the story through the music. They almost make it feel as if the music were written for the animation. This feels like a prime example of a later interpretation of a work that certainly was outside the original intention of the composer, but still brings the music wonderfully to life – I hope you enjoy.

As the self identified most vocal fan of this podcast, I am looking forward to the January episode that I expect must be on yearly themes. I would be remiss not to show my support for this content. They have been my favorite episodes from the last few years (or from this fall as Mark has pointed out the change in my listening cadence). I have no doubt you will completely disregard my opinion and create the content based on your own desires. However, I implore you to give the people what they want! Yearly Themes!
